Constantly Showing his Bias
I don’t really have a problem with Paul Sullivan. I think he’s been pretty interesting when I’ve seen him interviewed during games and despite what the Sneetch had to say about him on our last podcast, I don’t think he hates his life. (Or for that matter, his wife, as maybe I misheard Sneetch??) But as we discussed, Sullivan’s recent article about Zambrano is ridiculously biased. So when Lou put together the below image, I had to post it. After all, what’s the point of having a podcast if you can’t stamp “ass” over someone’s bio once in a while?

Yes, Sullivan is a wise-ass most of the time, but he has a relevant point in that Zambrano appears to be a huge flake with a boatload of talent (and ego) who could stand to take better care of himself. Remember, Sullivan spends a great deal of time around all of the players/staff and knows them very well.

This isn’t the first time he’s thrown Zambrano under the bus, and he acts like Big Z threw for 2 or 3 innings and had to leave. Carlos dealt for 6 8/9 innings…and it’s not like his unfinished mess lost the Cubs the game.
Whether or not he likes Carlos, Sullivan needs to get his act together and be able to report on the Cubs ace with some integrity, which was on the low end here. Integrity doesn’t mean excusing the injury, it just means pointing out the context and the fact that Carlos happened to endure two mid-sized rain delays.
All we really find out is that Carlos changed shirts a few times during the game. Better to know how many times Sully changed his pants over the same span. ZING.

Nice one, Lou.
I suppose there are more inportan Cubs matters than the trials and Tribulations of the beat writer and his issues. Have you read today’s Rosenblog?
