If you can’t beat ‘em, let ‘em join.

Jim Butler November 18th at 12:31 pm

We may have lost our Wood, but we’ve still got a Johnson.

Casey Johnson November 18th at 12:45 pm

landing peavy and signing dempster means 1 spot left… 30 (Ted Lilly) + 21 (Jason Marquis) = 51 (Randy Johnson) ???

Brandon November 18th at 4:17 pm

“at least my era is lower than my age” (see Jason Marquis)

Mattvegas November 18th at 5:36 pm

I guess it’s true. It takes a Johnson to get on the other side of the glass ceiling.

(I am telling the truth that I thought of this before reading the other entries.)

Garrett November 18th at 8:26 pm

Diamondbacks Hat-24$
Randy Johnson jersey-150$
Ball from his perfect game-1000$
The Cubs finally beating Randy Johnson-Priceless

Jen Chase November 18th at 8:43 pm

There’s no question — that is the “bird” ball.

Josh November 18th at 9:23 pm

On Wednesday, the Cubs announced the signing of Randy Johnson’s torso to a 1 year $4 million deal.

Jake November 19th at 9:12 am

…and here we come across a replica of Randy Johnson, trying to keep cameras out of his face of course.

Adam November 19th at 12:20 pm

He belongs in a museum!

Frank Mesina November 19th at 3:50 pm

Randy Johnson + David Blaine = Not much magic left.

corey vigil November 19th at 3:59 pm

randy johnson - still haunting the cubs

Nick November 19th at 4:53 pm

Making good use of what couldn’t pawned off on ebay…..

Dara November 20th at 8:50 am

“Sports Homes Weekly rates Johnson’s living room display case a 9. It would have gotten a 10 if it were closer to the entryway.”

Andrew November 20th at 10:26 am

Finally, the Diamondbacks figured out a way to make Randy Johnson seem less creepy — don’t show his face.

Jonathan November 20th at 12:00 pm

Arizona Cap- $30
Randy Johnson Jersey- $200
Throwing a “birdball”- Priceless

Ed November 20th at 12:24 pm

Mike in Doylestown November 20th at 1:13 pm

(spoken by Cooperstown tour guide)
…and here we have the first player inducted into Major League Baseball’s “All Ugly” wing…

Harshy November 20th at 4:53 pm

Because Bob Brenley wouldn’t give his jersey…

Matt in Columbia November 20th at 7:14 pm

“Airtight so the bird remains don’t decompose…”

Roger November 21st at 10:12 am

sorry, I can’t post anything after Ed’s…..that is genius on display.

Mr. Fun November 21st at 10:36 am

Yeah, nice display, dude. You do realize, however, that the number 51 will always belong to CUBS LEGEND JON LEICESTER, right?

Jonny November 21st at 11:54 am

Time is running out for Randy Johnson to win a world series championship with a better looking uniform.

Joe November 21st at 1:19 pm

I guess the cubs now have the best pitching rotation in the game. We can have Big z’s Johnson harden…

CubbieChubbie November 21st at 9:24 pm

…and on your right you’ll see Randy Johnson’s old (2001) Diamondbacks jersey. Ironically enough, it was that year that Lou or Sheps didn’t inject their Leftist political views into a Cubscast.

mark Coupland November 22nd at 12:59 am

JOHNSTON WHO??

D. November 22nd at 1:55 pm

If Michael Jordan could do it why not Magic Johnson!

Joel November 22nd at 2:04 pm

With zero bids and no time remaining, the Arizona Diamonbacks were stuck with the $.99 auction fee.

mark gast November 22nd at 9:52 pm

Tall guys never look good in purple.

Nick A. November 22nd at 10:12 pm

D-Backs trying to salvage the most they can of a big (literally!!!) player.

Joe November 23rd at 2:14 pm

Age continued on other side of jersey.

Doug November 23rd at 6:56 pm

Randy Johnson was inducted into the hall of fame after going 2-14 in 2008-2009 for the Cubs. This was due mainly to the support of the Breneman family.

hiroshiman November 24th at 8:01 am

The latest inductee into the mullet hall of fame.
