Four More Years: Ryan Dempster Re-signing Coverage

Leave it to Cubs GM Jim Hendry to do exactly what we asked of him in Monday’s episode and make a big splash this week. In case you hadn’t heard, the cannonball-esque splash happened yesterday and is that Ryan Dempster re-signed with the Cubs for 4 years and $52 million.
We’ll have a special episode that covers the signing, comments by Demp on the Cubs’ preparedness for the playoffs, and another topic or two available at 5:00 PM CT today.

I don’t know if you guys get any sort of pay for doing these cubscasts or not, but regardless, I think it’s awesome that you guys will throw up an episode at a moments notice when news breaks.

Hey Stewed,
Thanks for the kind comment. We make a little money from Cubscast, but it wouldn’t be worth it at all if we weren’t still passionate about seeing the Cubs win this thing and/or connecting with fellow fans.
At this point it’s weird to say, but it’d almost be more strange (at least to me) if we didn’t do a special episode for a big signing or trade.
We’ll be bringin’ it all offseason and beyond.
